to the previous period. Wheat in this area has been harvested
- Decreased greenness in western South Dakota and Nebraska crop and
grassland areas

southern Minnesota and Nebraska. Increased greenness here represents
growing corn and soybeans
- Increased greenness in the east-central part of the Country, where
many crops were doing poorly due to cool, wet, weather, but now are
progressing
- Good crop progress in eastern North Dakota spring wheat growing areas
- Increased greenness along the Mississippi River
- Forested areas in the Northeast showing little change or decreased
greenness
- Little change in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota forested areas
- Much of the Southwest showing little change when compared to the previous
period
- Decreased greenness in eastern Washington wheat growing areas
- Forested areas within the Rocky Mountains showing increased greenness
